Welcome to this new episode where we talk about (LEADER SHIFT) book written by John C. Maxwell. The book objective is to help leaders to adapt, grow and make intentional changes in their leadership approach to remain effective in constantly changing world.
The second shift required from the leader is the (Personal Development Shift). The important points under this subject are the following:
- If you want to grow, reach your full potential, and become a better leader, you need to develop in four areas: relationships, preparation, mindset, and leadership.
- Shifting your leadership approach from being goal-oriented to growth-oriented is neither complex nor easy; it requires a fundamental shift in mindset.
- If you want to become a better leader, a better employee, and a better person, you must transition from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset.
- A fixed mindset leads to premature stagnation, results in fewer achievements, and hinders people from reaching their full potential.
- Growth begins with a teachable spirit, possessing a passion for learning, the intention to learn daily, and the habit of reflecting on what we learn.
- Action reduces fear and builds courage. Realizing this is a key step toward fostering a love of learning and diminishing the fear of failure.
- It is far easier to become a person who grows if you are in a positive environment that fosters growth.
- Humble leaders possess confidence, yet they feel no need to draw attention to themselves.
- Your opinion of yourself determines the investment you make in yourself; if you value yourself little, your investment in yourself will be minimal.
- Small improvements make a significant difference over time. Knowledge provides a layer of learning that builds with each added layer, eventually evolving into wisdom.
