One of the best books John C. Maxwell wrote about leadership is (Developing the Leader Within You 2.0). Whoever wants to learn leadership or improve his or her leadership skills must read this book. The author puts in this book his 25 years of experience in leadership field.
He asked an important question: Why don't many people improve and become leaders? He lists four assumptions that these kinds of people say:
- I'm not born to be leader.
- Title and Seniority will automatically make me a leader.
- Work experience will automatically make me a leader.
- I'm waiting until I get a position to improve my leadership skills.
After that, the author talks about some perceptions about influence such as each person will influence another one and the best investment of tomorrow is improving your influence today.
Then he talks about the five levels of leadership which actually another book for the author and it is very useful to read.
The book is very interesting and full of useful concepts and stories that will benefit any leader.
