Episode 18 (Grow and Lead)

One of the most useful book I read about leadership is (Developing The Leader Within You 2.0) written by John C. Maxwell. The writer shares his long experience in leadership field which make the book very practical and useful.

The third section of the book is titled with (The Ultimate Test of Leadership: Creating Positive Change). Change is one of the biggest challenge for any leader since many people will resist change. Simply, many don't like to change because they want to be in their current situation which makes leader's role in creating positive change harder.

There are also other reasons that people resist change as the author stares such as:

- People will feel confused and shy when doing something new.

- People are afraid of being laughed on.

After that, the author suggests some essential steps to be followed while creating positive change:

- Specify early the required change.

- Organize your steps.

- Modify your priorities.

- Inform main people.

- Provide time for accepting change.

- Start Implementation.

- Expect Problems.

- Praise always successes.

- Provide daily progress.

Following above steps will raise the chances of creating the positive change, still the leader should improve his internal change because as it is said: (If you didn't change yourself, it will be difficult to change others).

Any leader should care about changing positively then people will accept the changes more frequently.

Episode 17 (Grow and Lead)

I advise anyone wants to learn leadership or enhance his or her leadership skills to read John Maxwell book (Developing The Leader Within You 2.0). It is very useful and interesting book and effective guideline for leaders.

The second chapter is titled with (Leadership Key: Priorities). I believe that any leader has many responsibilities, so it is essential to prioritize them in order to achieve; otherwise, it will be difficult to manage all responsibilities.

The author begins this chapter with a section called (Priorities Pressures) where he states some points regarding priorities such as:

- Many people overestimate the importance of many things.

- When small tasks are given high attention, big problems arise.

- Putting everything as priority means that nothing is priority.

After that, the author puts a new section called (Priorities Concepts) where he mentions five concepts such as:

- You can't get everything.

- The good thing is always the enemy of the best.

- Initiative person is better than interactive person.

Finally, the author states some solutions to manage priorities such as Pareto concept, The three elements and Margins.

Priorities management is very important for leaders and it is essential to be learnt and applied in the best way.
