(SOMETIMES YOU WIN...SOMETIMES YOU LEARN) is a very useful book written by John C. Maxwell talking about learning from losses in life which is essential for leaders and whoever wants to success in life.
The sixth factor for supporting learning from losses is (Willing to Learn...The way for learning). The author defines the willing to learn as the mentality and intention to continue learning and grow through life.
The author specify number of characteristics for people who are willing to learn:
1- They have a mentality that will connect them to learn.
Those people consider every day a chance to learn something new. They are open minded and they have attention to new things.
2- They have a beginner's mentality.
Erwin G. Holl says: "Open mind is the start of self-discovering and grow. We can not learn any new things until we admit that we actually do not know everything".
3- They evaluate themselves.
When people refuse to evaluate themselves and they instead blame others or circumstances, they will continue to achieve the same results always.
4- They encourage others to face them frankly.
5- They learn new things every day.
People do not grow and improve with big jumps, but with small accumulated changes.
The author also suggest some daily practices to be more willing to learn such as: Readiness, Meditation and Implementation.
The willing to learn is a power for the person to success and continue life with full of hope.
