When we search about the elements for countries or organizations success, we will find many. If we deeply analyzed these factors, we will find that most of them will require effective leadership. In order to have this type of leadership, I recommend applying the laws in (THE 21 IRREFUTABLE LAWS OF LEADERSHIP) book written by John C. Maxwell since they are very practical and useful.
The seventeenth law is called (The Law of Priorities) and it states that Leaders understand that activity is not necessarily about accomplishment.
The important points under this law are the following:
- Pareto law states that if you focus your attention on 20% of your most important activities, you will gain 80% of your efforts.
- In order for the leaders to be successful and effective, they should arrange their lives according to the three questions: What is required? What will give the biggest return? and what will make the greatest rewards?
- Leader's responsibility is to take decisions based on priorities.
- The greatest success will be achieved when people will direct their focus on the important things only.
- Successful leaders help their organizations, units, and teams to live based on priority law.
This law is mainly about changing the mindset of the leader himself and people. It will make the accomplishments more valuable and the people more focused.
