Welcome to the final episode of this book (THE LEADERSHIP HANDBOOK) written by John C. Maxwell. The book provides important lesson for leaders to be successful and effective.
The twenty sixth and final lesson is (People will summarize your life in one sentence - choose it now). The important points under this lesson are the followings:
- Life is like skydiving; you have to do it right at the first time.
- No one will ever care as much about your legacy as you do. If you don't take responsibility for it and work to achieve it, no one else will.
- Most people don't lead their lives; they simply accept them.
- People don't get to choose when or how they die. But they can decide how they live.
- The greatest thing this generation can do is lay some foundation for the next one.
- Your goal as a leader is not to make people you lead indispensable, but to leave them with something they can't do without.
- We must live and work in our time so that what we received as a seed may blossom into a flower for the next generation, and what we received as a flower may bear fruit for them. This is what we mean by progress.
- Knowing that one day people will summarize your life in a single sentence is a wake-up call.
- Information alone will not help you become a better leader. You need to apply information to your life.
