Welcome to this new episode where we talk about (LEADER SHIFT) book written by John C. Maxwell. The book objective is to help leaders to adapt, grow and make intentional changes in their leadership approach to remain effective in constantly changing world.
We will continue the third shift required from the leader, which is the (Cost Shift - From Privileges to the Price). The important points under this subject are the following
- Even if others believe in you, that borrowed belief must be transformed through success into self-belief if it is to endure.
- Your professional success will be directly proportional to what you do after you have completed what is expected of you.
- You cannot set a low performance standard for yourself and expect to lead others effectively.
- If you are a leader, you must set high standards for yourself before anyone else does.
- The first and most important commitment any leader makes to themselves is a commitment to integrity, responsibility, and selflessness.
- If you wish to reach higher levels of leadership, you must be prepared to keep paying the price, a price that will be higher than you imagine, and one that you will have to pay consistently and steadfastly.
- What people say, what they do, and what they claim to do are entirely different things.
- Almost anyone can be good once in a while; it is much harder to be good every single time.
- Consistent progress keeps morale high, fuels enthusiasm, and deepens your investment in whatever goal you are pursuing.
