Welcome to this episode where we talk about (THE LEADERSHIP HANDBOOK) book written by John C. Maxwell. The book provides important concepts and lessons for leaders to be successful and effective.
The eighth lesson of the book is (The first responsibility of a leader is to define reality). The important points under this lesson are the following:
- People only change if they have suffered enough to be forced to change, learned enough to change, or gained enough to be able to implement it.
- Reality is the foundation of positive change. If you don not face reality, you will not be able to make the necessary changes.
- Realistic leaders realize that self-deception can cost them their vision.
- If you lack realism today, you may lack credibility with others tomorrow.
- Our ability to define reality as leaders means adopting realistic thinking so that we can see the consequences of our actions more clearly and farther than those around us.
- The reality is that many people do not want to face reality. That is why it is good to ask others to help us.
- You can never make a series of good decisions without first facing the hard facts.
